Ellis is an associate in the firm's Norfolk office where her practice focuses on trust and estate matters. Ellis, a Suffolk native, comes to the trusts and estates arena naturally as the daughter of a trusts and estates attorney. Her estate planning work includes drafting advance medical directives, powers of attorney, wills, revocable trusts, irrevocable trusts, and charitable trusts and often intersects with family business succession planning through the formation of closely held entities.

In addition to the planning component of trusts and estates, Ellis also assists clients in the probate and administration of estates and the administration, modification, and termination of trusts both during an individual’s lifetime and after an individual’s death. Ellis focuses on the effective administration of estates and trusts by implementing and overseeing multi-generational plans that provide tax benefits while also maintaining a family’s core values and balancing complex family dynamics. Through her preparation and review of fiduciary income tax returns for estates, trusts, and charitable trusts; federal estate tax returns; and federal gift tax returns, Ellis is able to provide a holistic perspective to her estate planning and estate and trust administration clients.
