Kristan B. Burch Elected to Kaufman & Canoles Executive Committee

Kaufman & Canoles is pleased to announce that Kristan B. Burch has been elected to serve on the firm’s Executive Committee.

Ms. Burch is a Member in the firm’s Litigation Section and Co-Chair of the Intellectual Property & Franchising Practice Group. Her practice focuses on construction and intellectual property. Ms. Burch handles a broad range of civil litigation matters including construction defect cases, trademark and copyright infringement actions, and general commercial disputes. She regularly represents clients in federal and state courts, in arbitration, and in administrative proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board.

The Executive Committee is charged with the management of the firm, including overseeing firm standards for client service, the quality of legal services, professional development, and civic responsibility. Increasingly important is managing change in a rapidly moving business environment–something which Kaufman & Canoles has done very successfully since its founding in 1919.

“Kristan has been an excellent member of the Kaufman & Canoles team for 18 years and I am thrilled she has agreed to take on this additional role to help manage the firm. As we continuously strive to provide our clients with excellent legal services, I’d like to thank our current and prior Executive Committee members, attorneys, and staff for all of their hard work,” said William R. Van Buren, III, Chairman.
