January 2015 – Kaufman & Canoles, P.C. is pleased to announce that J. Britton Williston has been awarded the Emerson G. Spies award for distinguished service to the Young Lawyers Division of the Virginia Bar Association.

Mr. Williston is an associate in the firm’s Norfolk office and a member of the Commercial Section. His practice includes advising clients on private equity, securities regulation, corporate finance, and mergers and acquisitions. Mr. Williston received his B.A. for the University of Virginia and his J.D. from Columbia University School of Law.

The Emerson G. Spies award recognizes a Virginia Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Division member for enthusiasm, loyalty and dedication in the work of the Association in a given year.
