Joseph E. Houchin Joins Kaufman & Canoles
Kaufman & Canoles, P.C. is pleased to announce that Joseph E. Houchin has joined the firm as Of Counsel in the Raleigh office. Mr. Houchin will be a member of the firm’s Litigation Practice Group.
Mr. Houchin represents clients facing criminal offenses in State and Federal court, including individuals and businesses charged with embezzlement, corporate malfeasance, government contract fraud, and healthcare fraud as well as those under investigation by various enforcement agencies including the IRS criminal investigation, the Department of Defense DCIS, the NC SBI Medicaid Fraud Investigations Unit, and the NC State Board of Elections. He also maintains a business law and regulatory compliance practice representing the needs of North Carolina employers and entrepreneurs in administrative settings. Mr. Houchin received his B.A. from George Mason University and his J.D. from the University of Mississippi School of Law.
Kaufman & Canoles’ Litigation practice group trial experience is vast, with an impressive record of success in many trials of extreme complexity before juries and judges, in both federal and state courts. The team is skilled at all forms of alternative dispute resolution, including arbitration and mediation, and frequently counsel clients on how best to avoid litigation.
